Summary: In this project, we intend to build on prior knowledge obtained through a DTU Discovery Grant (Spring 2018) and a DTU patent (Døssing and Jakobsen, 2018) solution for UAV-based towed bird solutions. We will develop a lightweight and flexible multi-sensor magnetometer bird for UAV-based magnetic surveying. The modular bird will be an expansion of an already proven, extremely lightweight bird developed at CMAGTRES. The multi-sensor bird allows it to be fully customized for specific surveying purposes. The bird and patented towing system will provide superior data quality in UXO surveys and near-surface geology mapping.
